The problem is fixed. I replaced the speed sensor, which was on the top of the rear pumpkin, and all is well. I didn't realize there were so many different locations for the sensor in that model year. The parts man had a little trouble finding it until I told him exactly where it was located on the truck. The new sensor is reversed from the origional in the fact that the plug in is pointed the opposite direction but they include a harness extension so that the wire can make it over there. There is also a newly designed shield included that supposedly protects the sensor a little more. Thanks to all for the help. Jim
