Sure it will work. If, the disk is heavy enough to cut through any surface trash and get into the dirt enough to cover whatever you are disking under. 8 foot isn"t wide enough if you anything much over 3 feet tall that might burn. I`d go with about twice that wide. I`ve seen people try to make a fire line with a little lite disk in order to burn CRP. It is possible if you go over the same area enough times, but it may take a lot of trips.
