Conservation uses plows to do that. A disc will work but it takes a lot more passes to get it done. Now if you used both a plow and a disc thats even better. Then you just disc it once a week or so to keep things from growing back, or plant some wild life cover there that will stay good and green since good green stuff doesn't burn well. I know in my area a good disc is hard to find but you can find good used plows pretty easy, shoot I have 3 of them I have been tring to sell
