Just a couple thoughts. We farmers are planting a _lot_ of corn up here in Minnesota - well if the temp ever gets above freezing...... How much is hay going to be worth when the 'forgotten crop' is in demand, and the horse owners suddenly find there usual suppliers only grew 2/3 the hay - rest went into corn? I think you might make up that $1000 and then some on your 5 acres of good hay ground. I have a barn full of small squares, I don't think I will haul any out for $2 a bale right now. See what next year brings on hay price..... Now, if it's just cool to own a planter & grow some corn, nothing wrong with that. :) Then, how do you harvest it, and how do you get the moisture down to less than 15%? That is _the_ killer deal with corn - how to harvest it? --->Paul
