if the wire has one of those pinch or solder on ends-- make sure the wire is tight in the wire end-- if not you can tighten all you want and it will not help-- we had a ford that wouldn't start good et turned over slow== after racking my brain I found the wire on the ground end wasn't making good contact in the wire end- pinched it with vise grips and took care or the prob. of course we put a new cable on
