I think your prob right Rod, But I'm kinda suprised that I havnt heard anyone mention Cat/Cummins/IH or do they even make anything under 50 HP anymore? The water pump and generator guys I know seem to favor the Perkins or for a few dollars more they say The Lister-Petter outlive us all, I wonder if application has anything to do with it? I think the generator engine has the worst life of any diesel, what with being forgotten about for months on end then being jump started to full throttle half the time in freezing weather and loaded down right away, seems like any engine would get tired of that pretty quick.
