The Japanese Zero was the far superior fighter plane in WW11. It could out manuever our P-38, the German Mesershmidt or the RAF planes hands down. The only way to beat 'em was to gain altitude and dive down on them. So the history books say. Several times in the past century Japanese ingenuity was just to copy American geniuses when we did not listen (e.g., Howard Hughs with the Zero powerplant and E.W. Jennings with quality management). Ergo. . . the Japanese have had superior engineering for an awful long time. By the by, I remember the children's song "Jesus loves the children of the world, whether yellow black or white, they are precious in His sight . . . One final note, the Arabs are great at astronomy and mathematics. The Russians are pretty good at space exploration and IBMs. The Swiss make pretty neat watches. If I could afford the best I would always buy from the best.
