Electric dump

I had a one ton truck with a electric dump on it givin to me . The silenoid on the pump is broken off and just hanging there . When ya set it in place it has a copper strap on the silenoid and another on the motor and it looks as though there is a gap of about a 1/8 or 1/16 of a in. where they overlap about a 1/2" . Is this right or should they be touching ? I looked in the northern tools but they did`nt show any silenoids just pumps , where might a guy get one ?
