I use a urathane like stuff called Shoe Goo. Its made to repair or build up the bottom of worn out tennis shoes. Sporting good stores sell it.Almost the same stuff can be found packaged to repair hunting waders and air matreses. Good for all kind of stuff. Another thing that is amazing on rubber is super glue. Super glue and ruber are a match made in heaven but I only used it to glue up big cuts in Super Swamper tires that didn't go all the way thru.
