Not enough information. Need engine size, VIN, etc. for the later model vehicles. Seek out a friendly auto salvage yard with the access to the latest Hollander interchange information, either in printed form, or with on-line access. You say "Been told that they have different shift patterns and won't work right is this true?"... No such thing. The powertrain 'puter decides the "shift patterns" and the replacment tranny will work, so long as he 'puter recognizes it's wiring, and will communicate with it.
