Most of the time that seal on the end of the cylinder is just a dirt seal,the one you will need to get at is the one that is inside you will have to take it all apart. On some of the old Ditch-Witch equipment they used a cylinder that sounds like it might be the same. First you will have to remove the allen headbolts then the hydraulic fitting just behind the head should come out,now that head should slide into the cylinder itself, once it's inside there will be a snap ring on the inside of the cylinder that will also need to come out,once it's out the should side out the front.
