A couple of years ago, I called the phone company and asked about DSL. The lady on the other end said "yessir and did you want to sign up today?" I was really wanting high speed, so I said yes. "I will send the router out right away." Couple of days later the router arrived and I set it all up (so far so good). The anxiously awaited day to have it turned on came and it didn't happen. Late in the afternoon I called and the man on the other end said "DSL is not available at your house". I was pretty upset, as we figured out how I was to get the router returned. All was forgotten until I recieved my next phone bill. On the bill was a charge of over $700 for early cancellation of my DSL contract. It was a race between me and the wife to see who could get to the phone first. Turned out they had already credited my account with the overcharge.
