Ok... Sale barn has a record of who sold your animals - if you have the glue-tags (or the glue-tag number), they may be willing to put you in contact with the previous owner to find out about shots. Off hand, I would say that any damage from over-dosing (if she'd already had a shot) will depend on what vaccinations / medications were used. Talk to your vet. I suspect they will be able / willing to advise on what vaccinations will be required or advised. If you don't mind the sight of needles and blood, you can do this yourself. It sure helps to have a strong alleyway and corral to catch the critters in, though. Last year, I brought one and two steers home and gave an 8-way vac. and de-wormer to them in the borrowed two-horse trailer - Sure not ideal setup, but I didn't have a corral built. Most auction yards will have a vet on site during the sale, and you can ask for various shots / vet-work at the time you buy them. Might work out to ~$25/hd to castrate, de-worm, vaccinate w/ 8-way. Keep asking questions...Thats the only way newbies like us will learn. Nathaniel
