I can relate to that. The summer i put the fence up around the back yard we were in a drought , once ya got thru the top soil that is where ya sorta stopped . Even the spud bar would just bounce . it was dig one hole take a break for a hour have a couple barley pops dig next . Ended up usen water in the holes to soften them up . That same year my buddy and i started worken on fence at the farm the post hole auger would not go in no matter what we tryed . Then i found out one of my other friends had a auger that went on the skidsteer and now we had DOWN FORCE , Now that is what ya need to make holes in hard rock infested ground. Just wished that i would have knowen that my friend had that when i was putting in the yard fence instead of thee weekend of busten my donkey it could have been done in and hour. If ya got a skidsteer with the third valve go rent one nomatter what the cost it is alot less then a heartatach.
