8n hydraulics

I have 1949 8n that I want to put a loader on. The loader has lift and bucket cylinders so I need two valves.Unfortunately I don't have the front mounted hydraulics. I have seen single cylinder loaders hooked into the side port on the hydraulic pump housing and using the lift lever as the control. Can I run a line from this port to two open spool valves and leave my lift lever in the up poaition so it is always providing flow?
