One more season? Remember that you may be doing much more damage to the other parts of the engine by using inappropriate lubrication. You may have broken rings or stuck rings. Can"t tell from your post if engine is just plain wore out or if this is a another fault developing. Could be too much oil from a bearing being thrown up the cylinders, could be valve guides falling apart, could be just a blocked crankcase breather. You don"t tell us how your oil pressure is reading - no other info to go on. So my advice is find the problem before doing more damage - breather is a quick fix and wouldn"t need to risk the engine with too viscous oil. If you feed it thicker oil, you may need to turn the crank, or even replace it, as well as repairing cylinder faults. Your call. Regards, RAB
