David in Wales - more on plowing

David, around here, few are using moldboard plows anymore. Most are using some sort of chisel plow. Several shanks with curved shovels about 6 inches wide. Usually these blades are lead by a row of flat disks which cut the soil like a colter on a moldboard plow. Many are using some sort of spike harrow behind the plowshanks, and maybe a rolling cage type leveling device behind that. Tools are many feet wide, pulled by multilpe wheeled, 4wd drive tractors whth horsepowers in the hundred plus category, sometimes several hundred. Some are using rubber tracked tractors. Far larger than anything I need or can afford! Large disk harrows are also heavily used.
