I wore soft contacts for 30 years. I too was near sighted so I wore just one for distance. I think they call that mono vision. When in dusty conditions the eye WITHOUT the contact would collect dust, not the one with the contact. It seems that with a properly fit contact no dust can get under it. The trick is to KEEP THEM CLEAN and replace them at the first sign of a defect. If they are properly fit and you get used to them you can not tell they are in your eyes. With due respect to the other posters, I have seen allergy and other rejection conditions to contacts. They just do not work with some people. I loved them. I AM NOT AN EXPERT.
