I got a Massey tach from a guy off ebay, and while it looks EXACTLY like the old one from our 285, it has a different way of attaching the drive cable. Looks like a push-on type of connection. It is part # 772661M91, Stewart Warmer # 555KB3 Also, would the tach cable for what ever this one is for be long enough or would it work on the 285, so I don't have to get yet another tach? I still need to find a new tach drive as well, so do I HAVE to go with one made for the 285, or can I get one off any Massey w/ a perkins, or what models tach drives would work? We really want to get this tracotr in the feild but I'm a little leary of racking up hours and unknown RPM's on a fresh overhaul. Donovan from Wisconsin
I put this on the Massey board too, but any help I can get is appreciated. I posted the link to the ebay auction, he has several and he sold me this one outright. I should have looked at the 2nd picture of the backside first, but I was in too much of a rush and didn't.
