I used to raise my own plants for flue-cured in plant beds until the last 2 or 3 years I grew it. With the allotments being cut and the cost of the chemicals, I bought greenhouse plants. I really miss growing it, but I quit in 2004. I sold carryover that year. I could not see then and especially now with the increased fuel and labor costs how it would pay off. Rite much burley has moved into this area. Folks claim it is a little more profitable than flue-cured. My question is will anyone grow it unless things change after the buy-out money runs out?
