I was looking into a similar type setup to add another valve on my Cat loader. 1 gal./minute more would not pose much of a problem at all unless you were running it full throttle and using the hydraulics continuously which would only cause a little more heat build up. 25 gal./minute seems to be the cut off point when you need a special higher flow valve that costs a lot more.
