I had something happen yesterday that sure would renew a persons faith in God. I had a calf, for all intent and purposes come back from the dead. Darned cow monkeyed around for almost two hours,up and down after she broke water before I saw that the feet were upside down and the calf was backwards. Took some time to get her in the corral and the chute, pulled it,it had a heart beat, but wouldn't breath. We hung it up by the hind legs from the loader, kept slapping it around, dropped it a few times, finally got some shallow breathing after about two minutes. Let the cow out of the chute, she wouldn't go near it. I figured she knew something I didn't,but I wouldn't let her out of the corral until the calf stopped breathing. He just layed there, glassy eyed, tongue hanging out. She finally after about twenty minutes started licking it. Hour or so later,he layed upright, the wife said he was standing when she got the mail two hours later. This morning,he's up,sucking the cow, following her all over. Miracles still happen!
