John Deere has a good FOS, Fundamentals Of Service manual on air conditioning for farm equipment. Their latest 2006-2007 Learning Resource Materials Catalog shows it for $28.95 plus some shipping I suppose. Latest 2005, 9th edition is 112 pages, Order number FOS5709NC Air Conditioning. JD Publication 1-800-522-7448. Got my start on AC stuff with JDs first edition of that manual when local dealer didn't have time to do AC on tractor and threw the manual at me with some tools and said have fun lol. So learned how and bought my own tools later. If you need some ag AC parts resources email me.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion. After some research of convert or not, I decided to go ahead, the main reason being that this tractor was a working tractor, not a show tractor (yet).
