Check out this site for the Mobile Air Conditioning Society, they have alot of good informaton. You can also do a web search and find alot of good reading material. About two years ago one of my customers needed the a/c system on one of his machines repaired, as well as wanting systems installed in two machines that didn't come with them. I only found one guy local that wanted to work on them and from what I gathered all he could do was troubleshoot a factory system and replace parts. So, seeing the need I started researching and learning and eventually went through MACS to get my certification card. The guages, etc to get started aren't that expensive unless you plan on doing repairs that require you to evacuate the system. If you plan to get in that deep then you'll need a recovery machine and their not cheap. As far as the certification test, honestly, it's open book and it's not all that hard, plus you always have the books to fall back on for a question because there's no way you'll ever remember everything anyway. So, do a little research and I'm sure you'll find the info you need...Good luck.
