I believe you have your terminology a bit backwards. the polarity of the cable is the same as the battery cable. Thus. the P tractor cable goes to the + battery terminal.. and this is the ground. The N battery cable goes to the - battery terminal, and this goes to the starter solenoid. This is called positive ground. First thing you will want to do is pick up an owners manual and a shop service manual. Either original reprints, or newer versions ( I&T FO-19 is the new version of the NAA service manual ).. etc. Soundguy
