Small engine warehouse has a listing on ebay for a 14 hp v twin Briggs repower. The kit comes with all instructions and needed bracketing. Go to ebay and select 140 John Deere and scroll down.The kit is around $1300 delivered.
I have seen a couple of 140's backyard repowered with larger engines(16-20 hp) but they require alot of modification,and don't look at all well designed when completed with the hoods cut,frames notched,electric clutch rigged on etc.
