This is how I added a front shaft to an AC WD cast pulley: Welded a short length of one inch shaft to the center of the pulley. Machined that down to 3/4 inch, milled keyway. Used a lovejoy coupler to the pump the first time, double sprocket and roller chain the second time. Start with the larger shaft so if not perfectly centered after welding (it won't be!), you have enough stock to end up perfectly true . This works on a WD because the pulley is not held on with a center bolt- it has a setscrew on the side. If yours has a center bolt, weld the shaft to a disc that can be bolted on the face of the pulley. Machine work must be accurate- any wiggle will tear out the pump or coupling.
