I have three of the belarus tractors a 500 series from the 70’s, and two 420A’s from the 80’s. The 500 has more hard hours on it than I can count. The only repairs I have done were a starter and batteries. The one 420A needed a rebuild about five years ago but with the aluminum block I will must likely just wear it out since I do have another engine standing by. This one I changed out the starter to get quicker starts in the winter but that is all. The second 420A I have only had since late last fall and it sat all winter so I do not have much run time on that yet but seams just as good. Yes they do look like junk and they do have some oil leaks just like my fords, international, farmall, truck and motorcycle. I guess I am just not offended by fade paint, rust, or oil.
