I would start by pulling the drain plug on the bottom of the carb. Let fuel drain out of it for 5 minutes at the very least, catch it in something to save your self a few $$ and also so you can make sure it doesn't have a lot of rust/dirt in it. If you have good flow then I would check spark at the plugs. It needs to be a nice brite blue spark. If it isn't then points and condenser may be needed. If it is a good brite spark start it up and when it dies check for spark again. If you don't have spark then jumper across the ignition swithc or hot wire it to make sure its now a bad switch. If that doesn't help replace the condenser, if that doesn't work then on to the coil.
