Fabral makes a good quality standing seam roof, their products were specified by NYS Office of General Services (OGS) for many state buildings like their correctional facilities. They were also very strict about field cutting, because the freshly exposed steel, would eventually rust, no finish on it where it was cut. Apparently they had a lot of roofing problems in the past, they also specified the use of W.R. Grace Ice and Water shield under the entire roof, no other materials were approved as equal, as that material had such a self healing characteristic, so there was not much worry if a fastener penetrated it. Most only use that material in valleys or other areas prone to leak, but they decided it was worth the expense to use it as a secondary means of waterproofing under the standing seam roof system. These metal buildings are not my forte, but assume their must be a good detail that will work for this condition.
