The AC 180 and the Ford are both decent tractors. I don't think you would go wrong with either if it has been well maintained. Back in 1972 my dad considered buying both the AC 180 and the Ford 4000 new. He tried them both out and decided to buy the Ford. When he got to the Ford dealership to buy it the dealer was gone to lunch so he drove over to the John Deere place where they showed him a JD 3020 diesel. He drove it around the lot and liked it so much better than the others he bought it on the spot even though it was more expensive. We are still have that 3020, and in 27 years and over 3000 hrs all we have had to do to it is service the injection pump, and replace the bearing in the water pump. It is an excellent tractor. If you can find a good one for sale at a reasonable price definately try it out. The AC and the Ford will get the job done but as far as I am concerned the JD 3020 is a far superior machine. Needless to say all of the new equipment on our farm since then has been green.
