I grew up on dads side with JD & Ford auto's, moms side was Farmall & Chevy. You could almost draw a line around the different parts of the county by the brand that was locally sold & used. 2 JD dealers, 2 Farmall, 1 Allis, 1 Oliver/Massey Ferguson. Someone sold Case but thats before I can remember, Ford dealer was in the next county, so you didn't see many of them. Now, today we have 1 JD, 1 Massey. Even the CaseIH dealer in the ajoining county lost the equipment franchise because of lack of sales, he can still order parts. He now sells Kubota tractors & Stihl power equipment. Times have changed, if it weren't for the lawnmowers being popular in the 80's I think JD dealer would have gone under too.
