A tractor with a loader is a handy thing to have, but........ a "small 3 point" backhoe? These things can put a lot of stress on a tractor. Unless I had a specific project that would require a backhoe for more than 2 weeks at a time, I would just rent a hoe when I needed one. Just MY opinion. When looking for used equipment don't restrict yourself. There are many good machines out there in your price range with 3 cyl. engines, diesels, etc. Do stick with "name brands". Ford, IH/Farmall, Case, JD, Massey Ferguson, Kubota, etc., all have parts available, service data available, and if ya make a poor choice, buyers are out there willing to take it off your hands. Live PTO and live hydraulics are both highly desireable features. Just my opinions, but you did ask.
