My experience with Snapper has been ok, but Ive only had one and I used it for about 3 years and never had a problem with it. My Dad bought a 111 in 1982,(I assume this is the vintage that youre refering to, since I dont have the money to watse on a John Deere),he sold it in 95 and replaced it with a STX something, biggest pile of junk I have ever seen. The guy who has the 111 is still using it to this day, on the original engine, which has never been rebuilt. he did tear it down a couple of winters ago and cleaned it up, repalced the belts and such and gave it a new paint job. I may get bashed but last year I bought a Cub Cadet M50 Tank Zero turn. I am very impressed with this mower, and more importantly, when something does go wrong, I have 3 dealers within 50 miles of me, no other mower I looked at could say that. And more importantly, the price was right.
