I bought a Massey Ferguson 399 at an auction and just got it home. It was a power co r.o.w. mower that had excellant maintainence and a motor rebuild very recently. It has 4wd, new tires, custom built heavy duty bush hog, 50 ton winch on front bumper and 1/2" skid plates. With it"s black paint job, brush guards and rops it looks like something from Mad Max. Until I can get a book on it, I"m sure someone out there can answer a couple questions about it. I searched and couldn"t find a year/serial no chart for it, it is 5013 v36630. Are the 4wd and diff locks engaged with the lever up or down and finaly how do you check the oil? There is no dipstick, but there is a fitting on the right side of the cranckcase with a pipe cap on it, which is where I imagine it is checked. Thanks, Smiley
