Being the youngest and the smallest boy on the Ranch in Loomis, CA ( I was 4' 10" and weighed 72 lbs) I still had to hold my own at hay time we went into Sacramento to get 3 wire 100 lb bales of Alfalfa 3 tons at a time on the 35 International Truck. Boy was that a load but that old truck never missed a beat hauling it home. We boys would ride up on top for the last half of the ride. I remember in the early days we had to take down the power line to the out building in front of the house to get under it. I will say one thing even when I finally grew up I had a lot of strength in those thin arms, could arm wrestle guys twice my size. YUP! there is nothing like growing up on a farm. I just got 3 square balers ready for this season will cut and bale a lot of them little rascals at 40 to 80 lbs each. and hope to keep on doing it as long as I can. I'm 68 now will be 69 this summer.
