Flat ground

We took a ride a few weeks back and went through some flat ground around Rush county and up around New Castle IN. and noticed that about all the old farms were built on what small rises and high spots that was around , The only reason I can think of is dranage , Was there another reason for building on the high spot ?

Earthmaster Project Progress Just a little update on my Earthmaster......it's back from the dead!
