This is not about a tractor but related. I have a 1952 4 cylinder Continental engine. It is on an Ingersoll Rand air compressor. I removed the bottom radiator hose, drained the coolant and replaced a damaged gasket. The engine now, with fresh coolant, overheats within 3-4 minutes. Previously it ran fine. Is there a necessity to prime the water pump? If so how? Is it possible that draining the coolant could have disloged some internal debris and now the water passage is blocked? What would be the best way to flush the water passages? Any other ideas?
