Swung dad's 60 Chevy pickup too wide pulling in at a movie theater one night and clipped a guys bumper back in '85. Didn't hurt the pickup and barely grazed the guys bumper, he probably would hae never noticed. I waited around for over an hour for the guy to come out and even offered him $200 cash to cover the damages since a scratch and a broken light lens were the extent of things. Heck at even at 17 I could have fixed it myself for less but I had the cash and figured on being fair with the guy. Needless to say dad got a call from the insurance two days later saying they wanted well over $1000 to fix the guys car. What a rip off. Got hit in the left rear while turning in the drive one night, in the same truck, by a hit and run driver. The other guy had to cross the line to hit me and hit me hard enough to slide the truck around in the drive. Thankfully it had a piece of 6" channel iron for a rear bumper so other than a bent bracket on the tail light, which dad straightened with his hand, there was no noticiable damage. Funny though, there were parts of the head light, the light bucket, the marker light, the hub cap, and assorted other pieces and parts lying in the road from the other car. Don't remember now what brand it was but I do remember that it was a higher end model. Don't know wether the other guy was drunk or what but I'd have hated to have been him the next morning when I saw what my little run in had done to my car. Served him right.......

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
