Glad you got it apart. For future reference, heat is a wonderful thing. Heating the outside would be best, but even heating the inside will streatch & move the metal a little. The rust insulates a little, and getting one piece warmer than the other will make something move a little. Any movement at all might get it going. If you don't have a torch, pounding on one side of it while keeping the other side against heavy metal will also jar & streach the metal, getting something to move a tiny bit. You want to pound across the threads - squeeze something a tiny bit oblong, make the rust move. You don't want to pound too much in or out, the way turning it would move it. Naturally, you run risks of breaking something, or messing up the temper of some items. But once it's stuck good, you have to try something. I have an oxy-LP torch, use it every year to cut a bearing or 2 off, braze somthing together, cut a little metal, loosen frozen bolts. --->Paul
