In SC, we used to have these big June Bugs, with an irridescent green shell . As kids, we caught them, and tied a long piece of thread to one leg, and flew them around in circles (poor kid's version of a model airplane) ... I have not seen any June bugs in at least 30 years.. There are lots of insects that seem to have disappeared.. I see very few butterflies, I have not seen a honeybees this year.. wasps and skeeters are all that I have seen this year..
