Lake Optima is near the east side of the center of the worst part - that discussion is sort of what triggered all this. Here are two pics taken in Stratford, TX in the 30's - where I live: 


My Dad lived through many of these storms - he says at times all you could do was get in the house and get under a wet sheet to sort of filter out the dust so you could breathe. I thought it might be interesting, since these hard times and these historical problems with soil and water control are a large part of why the government is so involved with farming today... HH
