Is all horsepower the same? Question: can a 10 horse gas engine do the same work as a 10 HP electric motor on the same task? Is a 300 HP 327 chevy motor able to do the same work as a 300 HP motor in a big ag tractor? We have a little compact 16 horse diesel three cylinder and it seems as though it will produce twice as much as a single 16hp Kohler on the same job.
