WOW! I've shot 2 skunks, both right through the head with a .22. Both times they dropped like rocks and both times after they'd laid there dead for a few minutes the stink started boiling out of them. The second time I was ready and just as he started to stink I had him in a plastic garbage back that quick as a wink went into a second garbage bag. Even then the smell hangs around for awhile. The guy at the dump gave me the hairy eyeball pulling in with that load...
