Buy the least expensive diesel that will get the job done because running gas tractors these days will break the bank.off brands are cheaper and most just as good or better than 'main' brand tractors.Depends on your methods also notill would mean a tractor just to pull the drill.Conventional would mean plowing,disking run a cultipacker,cultivation etc.Also how much time do you have to work on it? No matter what the first time around you are almost guaranteed to loose money.
