I am trying to time my 69 case 188 diesel which is the same up to 71 but I'm not sure about 72. Anyway #1 @TDC on compression, idler pully pointer points at pump dot & cam dot & set Rosa Master pump lines, on line.Thats all theres supposed to be to it, a piece of cake right? Wrong. I got mine to fire once after quite a while of cranking & ran very rough & smoked allot but I cant quite get the pump set right I guess so I dont think the lines are really spposed to be perfectly lined up but I'm not sure. I'll know when its working perfectly. In my case I cant be 180* off or it should never have fired right? Nor should I even be off 1 gear tooth or it would never have fired so it must be in the pump timing. Keep me posted becuase I might learn from what you do. Thanks Jim
