O/T 6.5L Cylinder heads

This is not tractor related, but I have seen other "0/T" questions on this forum. We have been looking for a different "field pickup". We are looking for a 3/4 Ton Chevy/GMC extended cab 4x4 with the 6.5 Diesel. My wife found one yesterday for a very reasonable price. She asked what was wrong and was told that the head gasket was out or that the heads might even be bad. Make me an offer. The thing is, is that we have a set of heads for an older 6.5 diesel and I was wondering if anyone knew if the older 6.5 heads would fit on a 2000 engine. The local Chevy dealer was NO help. Thanks for any help.
