Roger,
Brazing is a good repair for cast ,but leaves
a bit to be desired for manifolds because of
the thermal cycling and the difference in the
expansion rates between braze and cast iron.
A better repair is oxy/acet with cast iron
rod (cast iron in stick form),with that process
the base material and the repair material are
the same.
Here are two pictures ,one before and one after
repair with oxy/ acet.
