As far as I can tell they are the same.I have a 1945 Avery A that I saved from the scrapper.If I remember correctly the General was part of the Cletrac line and was also sold by Massey Harris dealers.Both companies were unhappy with the sales and the tractors became the BF Avery A.I don't know if BF Avery actually made them or if Cletrac continued to manufacture them for Avery.The rear end appears to be identical to the early Allis Chalmers C tractors.
