I've had my 750 since the day after I graduated from high school, 5.19.1974. The most troublesome areas I've had to deal with was synchronizing the carbs (had a mechanic do that for me) and the dual point set-up....I think a good place to start would be checking the points. A few years ago I replaced the coils with a hotter set, I believe they are 40,000 volt along with some solid copper plug wires which helped alot. I'm not sure, just something to look at.
